Visual Narrative
Narrative is a central mode of understanding the world around us. As narrative expanded into digital media, particularly with the emergence of digital humanities, new possibilities arise for the creation and analysis of the powerful visual stories that increasingly populate our world.
The Visual Narrative Initiative (VNI) is a community of researchers using new forms of computational scholarship and communication to increase the understanding of narratives about our past, present, and future. It was created in 2015 to advance an ambitious interdisciplinary agenda in the frontier between engineering, design, and the humanities. It stands as a research cluster connecting several departments at NC State, bridging the expertise of researchers from Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Art + Design, History, and English.
If you are interested talking with us about our research, or have ideas for collaboration, we would like to meet you!
